Welcome to a Supple World of Rich Pop Bohemian Splendor...
Say hello to Rudy Fig, a 21 year old, self taught, minneapolis based oil painter, designer, and professional day dreamer.
Rudy Figs candy coated paintings take you into the lush world of her imagination, Where nymphs frolic in enchanted patisserie forests, but not before first sitting to have their portraits painted. Welcome to a dreamy, creamy world where magic and reality collide. Rudy describes her work as an " everchanging, personal and subconcious response to her life experience and surroundings..." The result is a whimsical, psychadelic, feminine, and sometimes macabre world that is brimming with color and oozing with magic.
Though she's probably from Jupiter, Rudy Fig was born in 1988 on earth, in Minnesota, with an extensive knowlege compositon and color theory ... and a knack for run on sentances. Her parents were toy designers, so as child she grew up in a very creative environment complete with prototypes, marker comps and good old school design. As a child she demonstrated a talent for the arts and developed a distinctive and attractive style at a young age.
In 2007, at age 18, Rudy flunked out of her first semester of art college with flying colors and decided to persue her personal work instead. Today Rudy works full time in her Minneapolis studio. She shares her paintings in galleries across the U.S. and europe and continues to delight patrons across the globe. Aside from painting, she also works in plastics, fashion/fibers, designer toys/dolls, commercial collaborations, and 3-Dimensional work. Rudy's main goal, of course, is to spread magic.
Miss Rudy Fig is maturing into a highly collectable and progressively exciting artist. We are very excited to see where she takes us next.
