*I have a very full schedule of painting and i am not always able to take blythe doll commissions. But lucky you!- you can reserve a spot. To reserve a spot on the waiting list a non refundable deposit of half price is required. (This ensures a chunk of my time for you and covers the cost of materials)
*I do not reproduce previous dolls
*I do not do plug by plug reroots. I use strong, heatproof weft hair that is very realistic. All wefts are double reinforced to ensure quality and thickness... I simply do not have the time for reroots right now- ;)
What is Blythe?
Blythe is a Doll that was created by Kenner in 1972 only to be pulled of the shelves a year. Appearantly she was just too creepy for little girls. The Blythe Doll features a pullring in the back of her head that changes the color and position of her eyes. Blythe Dolls were repopularized by Gina Garan and Junko Wong in the 90's, which led to the modern reproductions, or "Neo-Blythe." Today, customized Blythe dolls are featured in doll, urban toy and art collections around the globe.
How Long Does iT Take to make a Doll?
Customizing Blythe is a very intensive process that involves scalping the doll, decapitating her, and redesigning the toy from the inside out. It can take anywhere from 1-5 months to complete a custom blythe doll depending on the intensity of the project.
